Ingredients and Variations

Spaghetti Squash: Choose squash that are clean and heavy. Butternut, acorn, and zucchini squash can all be cooked in the air fryer as well!

Seasonings: Other than a little oil and salt, a sprinkle of brown sugar before oven roasting can create a new flavor profile. Other than salt, sprinkle on some tangy ranch seasoning, a savory Italian blend, or go zesty, Cajun-style.

How to Cut Spaghetti Squash

Pre-cooked spaghetti squash is easier to cut and takes less time to roast in the air fryer.

  • Use a fork to poke holes all over the skin, and place it in the microwave or air fryer for a few minutes to soften slightly.
  • Place the squash on a clean kitchen towel on a cutting board and cut the squash in half lengthwise.
  • Scoop out the seeds, and save them for roasting later!

How to Make Air Fryer Spaghetti Squash

  1. Wash the squash, and poke holes around the squash with a fork and soften in the microwave for 3 minutes or air fryer for 8-9 minutes (as described above, and in the recipe card below).
  2. Cool the squash until it’s easy to handle. Cut in half lengthwise per the directions above.
  3. Brush the inside halves with oil and season with salt.
  4. Cook the squash until it’s fork-tender.
  5. Use a fork to scrape the flesh from one end to another, creating strands.

Serve as desired.
