  1. HOT DOGS: Mini hot dogs are called for in this recipe, but spicy sausages make the best little smokies recipe anywhere around! Short on time and cannot find either? Cut regular hot dogs into bite sized chunks and proceed with the recipe. Looking for a non-pork option? Use all beef hotdogs or mini sausages without pork for a delicious alternative.
  2. CRESCENT DOUGH: Store bought crescent roll dough is so quick, easy and convenient. Keep a tube in the fridge for other simple recipes like these sausage crescent rolls.

How Do You Make Pigs in a Blanket?

  1. Preheat oven and line sheet pan with parchment paper or use pan release.
  2. Unroll crescent roll dough, push the seams together, then cut into 10 equal strips and cut in half again.
  3. Wrap each mini hot dog with a strip of dough. Place seam side down on the sheet pan.
  4. Bake as per recipe, cool slightly and serve!

What To Serve With Mini Pigs In A Blanket

These lil smokies pigs in a blanket positively scream for a dipping sauce! There are so many varieties of dipping sauces to choose from, that it can be hard to pick! Why not try them all!

Some delicious options are sweet and tangy honey mustard, a spicy Carolina or Chipoltle bbq sauce, dijon or a simple yellow mustard and ketchup is hard to beat! While ranch dressing is always a hit, a cheese dip is always delish!

Mini Pigs In a Blanket (Crescent Dogs)

How much fun is it to make these little smokies crescent rolls? No matter what you call them, crescent roll mini pigs in a blanket or crescent mini hot dogs, even little smokies in a blanket…these little piggies are a favorite appy anytime!
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 12 minutes
Total Time 27 minutes

Ingredients  

  • 1 package cocktail smokies about 1 pound, approximately 40 smokies
  • 12 ounces Crescent Grands 4 (1 package)

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 375F. Line baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Spread out 2 crescents and push seam slightly together. Cut into 10 strips, and cut in half. Wrap each smokie in one strip of crescent dough. Place on baking tray, leaving a bit of space between to allow the dough to rise in the oven.
  • Bake 12-15 mins.*

Notes

*I baked 15 minutes as we like them more well done.
