Hot Artichoke Dip is a winner appie for gameday, BBQs, potlucks and, frankly, any (every!) day of the week. It comes together in minutes and bakes up quickly.
This is the original artichoke dip recipe that I’ve made it ever since I can remember. It has been a long time favorite in our family. It’s so easy to make that my daughter makes it on her own, just like our delicious Rhubarb Bars.

Appetizers are the main event this weekend. Beer, chips and dip, mini sausage crescent rolls, jalapeno poppers, queso cheese dip, and homemade hot artichoke dip is a touchdown combination! In fact, anytime you are looking to up your game with an MVP appetizer, this baked artichoke dip will deliver.
This hot artichoke dip is one of my most popular hot dips, so expect it to be eaten up in the first quarter. The good news is that it is so fast and easy to make, you’ll be able to make a second batch at half time and still not miss the show!
This easy artichoke dip has wholesome ingredients including parmesan cheese, mayonnaise and of course artichokes. I dare say this is the best artichoke recipe we have ever tasted and we think you will agree.
Can You Make Hot Artichoke Dip Ahead of Time?
Absolutely, it can be prepared ahead of time. Prepare this dish on the Saturday before the game, or even in the morning, and pop it in the oven before serving. It just may need to bake for a couple extra minutes to heat thoroughly if it has been in the fridge.
How to Make Artichoke Dip
Making this cheesy artichoke dip is super quick and easy. Simply:
- Grate the parmesan cheese
- Chop the artichokes
- Combine all ingredients
- Heat, and eat!
It’s a simple recipe, but you can create some variations of this parmesan dip making a crab artichoke dip for your seafood lovers, or changing the cheese you use. Make it zesty adding some paprika, hot peppers or hot sauce.
Can Artichoke Dip Be Reheated?
It sure can. We’ve reheated in the oven or microwave (just until warm) and served with the usual accouterments. We’ve also spread it on sandwiches (YUM) and even added it into a pasta dish! Try it, you’ll be pleasantly surprised!
Warm artichoke dip is just as tasty and I steal cold artichoke dip out of the fridge on the regular. If you have a zesty, spicy version of artichoke dip then it will always be a hot artichoke dip, if you know what I mean ;).
Is Artichoke Dip Healthy?
Artichokes are good for you and have many health benefits. They are high in fiber (higher than prunes); high in Vitamin C, K, antioxidants and key nutrients such as Cynarin which helps boost the immune system, improve digestion and fights off cancer.
The artichoke is actually a thistle when it flowers but is harvested before this happens. Most artichokes come from the Mediterranean Region and were popular with Roman nobility. Maybe the Romans made artichoke dip to watch the Gladiators in the Colosseum!
What Do You Serve Artichoke Dip With?
I most often serve the dip with crackers, or wonton crisps. It also goes well with corn chips, tortilla chips, sliced baguette, and vegetables. I love to smear it on some fresh No Knead Bread.
Serve artichoke dip alongside your Charcuterie Board at your next gathering. Your guests will be most impressed!
