Everyone Will Love These Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls Because…
- They are rich, fluffy, and delicious – bakery perfect in every way.
- Using shortcut ingredients mean these luscious rolls can be made even on a busy weekday morning.
- These sweet and colorful cinnamon rolls can be made ahead and reheated, perfect for a Sunday brunch or holiday table.
Ingredients and Variations
Crescent Rolls: Go for big and flaky like Pillsbury Grand Crescent Rolls. Any size will do, but the larger sizes will produce a show stopping muffin!
Strawberries: Dried strawberries work perfectly in the delicate crescent roll dough. Fresh or frozen strawberries can be used but should be drained and then spread on a baking sheet to dry out in a 200°F oven.
Frosting: Hold onto this ‘foundation’ recipe for cream cheese frosting! With four simple ingredients and an electric mixer, you can have instant frosting for everything from carrot cake to pancakes! Plus, it freezes beautifully.
Variations
Replace vanilla extract for strawberry extract, if it’s not available. Use lemon extract instead of vanilla for a tart cinnamon roll and add some fresh lemon zest to the filling in Step 4 or as a garnish before serving. Top iced rolls with more dried strawberries, cinnamon sugar, slivered almonds, or chopped pistachios.
Save some cash!
If you can find the same variety of crescent rolls in a store brand, get them. They will work just as well.
How to Make Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls
- Combine sugar, strawberries, and cinnamon in a bowl (recipe below).
- Roll out crescent dough and spread with butter. Sprinkle strawberry mixture over the top.
- Tightly roll dough from the longer end and cut into 6 equal pieces.
- Place strawberry cinnamon rolls in a baking dish and drizzle with heavy cream.
- Bake until golden brown and cool.
A Helpful Hint
Roll dough as tightly as possible so they don’t over-expand in the baking process.
For Frosting
- Mix frosting ingredients with an electric blender (or whisk) until desired consistency is reached.
- Spread frosting over rolls and allow to set for a few minutes. Best served warm.
Storing Strawberry Cinnamon Rolls
Keep leftover strawberry cinnamon rolls in a covered container at room temperature or in the refrigerator. Heat them up in the microwave for just a few seconds, or in the oven wrapped with foil at 250˚F, if desired.
Freeze these strawberry rolls and frosting separately. Wrap the rolls in foil then in plastic wrap, or place a zippered freezer bag, for up to 2 months. The frosting can be stored in an airtight container or a zippered freezer bag as well for up to 3 months.

Ingredients
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup crushed freeze dried strawberries
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon optional
- 8 ounces crescent rolls sheet or crescents, 1 can
- 1 Tablespoon unsalted butter room temperature
- ¼ cup heavy cream
Frosting
- 2 ounces cream cheese room temperature
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 Tablespoons heavy cream more as needed
- 1 teaspoon strawberry extract or vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375F. Grease baking dish and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine sugar, crushed strawberries, and cinnamon if using. Set aside.
- Unroll dough out flat onto parchment paper (helps with dough not sticking), closing seams if necessary.
- Spread dough with butter. Sprinkle with strawberry sugar mixture.
- From the longer end, tightly roll dough into a log. Carefully cut the log into 6 equal pieces using a serrated knife or unflavored dental floss.
- Add cut rolls to baking dish, cut side up. Drizzle with ¼ cup heavy cream.
- Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden brown and dough is cooked through. Remove from oven to rest.
To Make Frosting
- In a small bowl, mix cream cheese until smooth using a hand blender on low (or whisk).
- Add powdered sugar, cream, and extract and continue mixing until smooth. For a thinner frosting, add 1 teaspoon of cream at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
Assembly
- Spread frosting over freshly baked rolls. Allow to set for 5-10 minutes and serve.
Notes
- Make sure you roll the dough up as tight as possible. This will prevent the rolls from over expansion in the baking process.
- Best served warm.
