chicken broth
or vegetable broth

freshly grated parmesan cheese

heavy cream

teaspoon
kosher salt

freshly ground black pepper
or to taste
Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium-low heat, melt butter. Add the garlic and Italian seasoning. Cook for 45-60 seconds, or until fragrant.
Add flour and whisk or stir with a rubber spatula to form a paste, about 1-2 minutes.
Slowly pour in the broth, whisking constantly, until fully combined and smooth.
Increase heat to medium and bring to a low simmer. Cook for 2 minutes, or until sauce thickens.
Add Parmesan cheese and cream. Continue to cook and whisk until cheese melts and the sauce becomes smooth and creamy.
Taste and add salt and pepper. Taste again and add additional salt and pepper to your liking.
Notes
Keep leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 7 days.
