inch chunk
fresh ginger root
peel intact

water
Optional Flavorings (choose one):

cinnamon stick
1
piece
fresh turmeric
3-4
sprigs
mint
Optional Sweeteners:
honey
agave, or maple syrup, to taste
Optional Addins:
slices
lemon
or orange
Instructions
In a small saucepan on medium-high heat, heat 1 cup of water.
Slice the ginger into thin slices and add to the saucepan. Add optional flavoring if using.
Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and allow to steep for 4-5 minutes.
Strain out ginger and flavorings and pour into a mug and enjoy, or pour into a mason jar if preparing ahead.
Add optional addins and sweeteners if using.
Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week.
