Ingredients

unsalted butter
at room temp, 2 sticks
1¼

sugar
½
cup
brown sugar
packed

large eggs
at room temp

teaspoons
vanilla extract

semisweet chocolate chips
or chunks

flaky sea salt

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F and grease a 12-inch cast iron skillet with ¼ teaspoon butter.
In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set the bowl aside.
In a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together 1 cup unsalted butter with sugar and light brown sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time, until mixed in, then add the vanilla extract and beat until combined.
Add the flour mixture into the stand mixer and mix just until the dough comes together, then add chocolate chips. Mix until evenly incorporated.
Scrape the dough into the skillet, level and then sprinkle with sea salt (if using).
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until barely cooked in the center.
Remove from the oven and cool for 10 minutes before serving. Serve plain, or with desired toppings.
