1Tablespoonchopped fresh parsleyoptional, for garnish
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Remove core and cut tomatoes in half across the middle. Score each half by cutting about ¼ inch deep cuts across the cut side of the tomato. Turn the tomato and cut perpendicular cuts (to create a crosshatch pattern).
Place cut tomato halves flesh side up in a baking dish. Drizzle with Worcestershire sauce and sprinkle with pepper and parmesan.
Bake for 8-15 minutes*, until cheese is melted and tomatoes are heated through.
Drizzle with juices in the pan and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
Notes
*Cook time will vary based on the size of the tomatoes.
For smaller tomatoes, check for doneness at 8 minutes.
Broil for 2 minutes to brown the cheese if desired, especially for shorter cook times.
Be careful to not overcook the tomatoes (they're still tasty if they are soft!).
